FLOWERS... for ME?!?

So i just got these really pretty flowers from my husband for our anniversary. I can't remember the last time he got me flowers... so I'm very excited. The picture doesn't do them justice, either. They are much more beautiful in real life. :)

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!

Today is our 3 year wedding Anniversary. Neither of us can believe how fast time flies. Next year will mark 10 years together for us. Our wedding day couldn't have been any more blissful (thank God, because I was a VERY nervous bride). The weather was perfect (unlike this year!), almost all of our family and friends were able to attend and the day went off without a hitch. PERFECT.

Also, Happy Anniversary wishes to Jenny and Kris of Des Moines, Iowa, who we met on our honeymoon to Jamaica. We are hoping to plan a trip together in the future!

Many great memories... many more to come.

I just can't do it...

Ugh. So a couple of weeks ago I tried two new vegetables. It was broccoli & Pea Pods. So, pea pods were not the worst thing I've ever had... it didn't set off my gag reflex or anything. But broccoli... um... gross. I told myself I would never try this grossness and I only did b/c I thought if I snuck it onto my fork with the chicken and pasta from my microwave meal, I could pull it off. Those little feelers... yeah, not a big fan of those. Broccoli will definitely never become something I can occassionally eat without gagging.

Vegetables I've now tried:
Corn
Potatoes
Lettuce
Cucumber
Carrots
Broccoli
Pea pods

Vegetables are just wrong. But atleast now I've got quite a list of ones that I've tried so maybe I won't get made fun of quite as much...

My second Sarah concert

So last night I had the pleasure of attending my second Sarah Mclachlan concert. Just like the first one (in 1998) it was incredible. I absolutely love her... and her music is even better live. Thank you, Pam, for such a great Christmas gift!!!

Fear

But I fear
I have nothing to give
I have so much to lose
Here in this lonely place
Tangled up in our embrace
There’s nothing I’d like
Better than to fall
But I fear
I have nothing to give
We have so much to lose...

What the??

So I finally broke down after a couple hours of debate and went to Ainslie's, the overpriced convenience store down the road, to pick up a sandwich for lunch. I ordered a chicken breast sandwich with NO MAYO. I drove through the pain-in-the-butt construction to get there and picked up my $5.08 sandwich (no, it did not come with fries and a soda... that was JUST the sandwich). Anyway, I make my way back through construction to find that my overpriced chicken sandwich with NO MAYO was actually CHICKEN SALAD. What the?? I mean, SERIOUSLY. If your version of a chicken breast sandwich was actually a chicken salad sandwich, don't ya think you might mention that to the person ordering theirs with no mayo???

Jekyll? Or Hyde??

When someone you think you REALLY know turns out to be an entirely different person altogether, it must be quite a sigh of relief to the person who has known what a freak they are all along.

ARBONNE anyone?

So my sister, Tammy, recently hosted this "spa party". I went along thinking "yeah, yeah... I dont' wear make-up and I buy Bath & Body Works for all of my other "spa-type" stuff. I had a good feeling that this would be one of the few ocassions that I wouldn't be tempted to spend money. Yeah, think again. The product line is Arbonne International and it's awesome! I wanted just about everything. I even signed up to host a spa party of my own... knowing my friends would also love the stuff. So if you want to check out the website, go here and if you want to place an order, let me know and I will add it on to mine. The party is June 17th at 6 pm and if you could make it and didn't receive an evite, let me know and I'll send it along. Pamper away!

What credit card are YOU using?

So I am a credit card rewards FREAK. For years we've been using Discover for all of our purchases and reeping the benefits by collecting a check every few months that seems to add up rather quickly. Well for the past 8 months I have been using Citicard Mastercard and i LOOOOOOOOOOVE it. Instead of the weak 1% given out by Discover, my Citi card gives a whole 5% cash back on groceries, gas and drugstores (and 1% everywhere else)... the places we shop most. The ONLY CATCH to this card is that the maximum amount of cash back you can acrue in a year is $300. In the little over 8 months that we have used this card, we have earned $285. My plan was to cancel the card and sign up again so my 1 year $300 period would start over. I stumbled across an ad in the paper for a Citicard "Diamond Preferred" mastercard. This card has no maximum (or, well, actually a maximum that is so high that noone could ever possibly reach it)... BUT... instead of cash, you get gift cards. Just for signing up we got 5,000 bonus points which we can redeem for a $50 GIFT CARD!!! That's right... just for signing up. In addition, we continue to get these "bonus points" for each of our purchases which are equivalent to the 5% at gas, groceries, drugstores and 1% elsewhere. So seriously... go here and get this card... you'll love racking up the benefits! You would be shocked at how much you can earn by just putting your gas on this card instead of paying cash. (That's a savings of over $.10 per gallon everytime you get gas!)

Typical...

So I recognize that there are some people in life who just have everything. They get everything they want - the second the want it. I'm not saying that noone is allowed to be spoiled rotten brats ... I'm just saying WHY DO I HAVE TO KNOW THEM!?!.

Wednesday's Horoscope

So this was my horoscope (Libra) for yesterday:
You'll have some interesting ideas about your future and how to make changes leading to a better life. Personal alterations will turn out better than you expect. Let go of anyone or anything dragging you down.

Hrmm...

Impatient McGee

So I have my moments of patience... occasionally... but today just isn't one of them. Today I am the definition of impatient... and every minute feels like an hour. Now I know what Shawn feels like every time he gets in the car (he is the most impatient driver in the world). It's no fun!!!

Tuesday: Clean shower curtain day...

Today is clean shower curtain day. I think one of the reasons I like this day more than clean sheet night is the fact that clean shower curtain day comes only once a month where clean sheet night is every week. Also, with clean shower curtain day comes clean shower day - because who could have a clean shower curtain without a squeaky clean shower to go with it? You'd think I would try to coordinate clean shower curtain day with clean sheet night so that they fall on the same day more often. It is definitely excitement overload when that happens. My husband, of course, thinks that the reason that the two don't fall on the same day is because our showers, like our toilets, are self-cleaning so we really don't have any choice in when they are cleaned. Just one day - POOF - clean toilets and showers! Amazing how that works...

It's the absolute worst when you feel like you're making a genuinely good decision and it turns out to be bad. I have a really hard (almost impossible) time making big decisions. Usually I have such a hard time deciding whether it is a good thing to do or a bad thing to do. I've actually been known to make pros and cons lists over choosing McD's or BK. I thought for sure my latest decision was the thing to do. In reality, it's making the other thing I want to do that much harder.
